The Municipal Chief Executive for Nzema East Herbert Kuah Dickson, has called on residents to support the Assembly’s efforts to curb illegal dumping in the sea and unauthorised sites, promoting the use of designated waste containers instead.

Addressing a gathering at the enstoolment ceremony of Nana Akaakye II, as Adehyehemaa of Lower Town and Nsein Traditional Area, Dickson noted that the Assembly’s substantial waste management costs divert funds from crucial developmental projects.

“I urge the public to support the Assembly’s sanitation efforts. We’re spending substantial amounts on waste management due to improper disposal. Let’s utilize designated waste containers.

“Our beaches are currently unusable due to insanitary conditions. I call on everyone to support the Assembly’s initiatives, ensuring we allocate resources effectively for developmental projects rather than just waste disposal,” he said Saturday, July 12, 2025.

The MCE emphasized the importance of prompt payment of Assembly revenue, stressing that it’s crucial for municipal development.

“Let’s work together, I urge everyone to prioritize paying their revenue due to the Assembly. Our daily activities require funding, and revenue mobilization is key. Timely payment will enable the Assembly to drive development projects, ultimately benefiting our community.”

The MCE reaffirmed his commitment to accountability, stating that he will meet with chiefs and residents at least three times a year to discuss municipal progress and identify key development needs.
