Three armed robbers were killed in a shoot-out with the Tema Regional Police Command on Monday, July 21, 2025.
The shoot-out occurred at Kpone after police responded to a distress call regarding armed men numbering about ten breaking into a warehouse at the Tema Industrial Area.
The police patrol team that responded to the call, confronted the suspects, leading to an exchange of gunfire.
Three of the suspects were shot in the process and were pronounced dead. The remaining suspects some of whom are believed to have sustained gunshot wounds, fled the scene.
Police recovered a Bruni mod foreign pistol, a double-barreled locally manufactured pistol with 2 rounds of ammunition and 11 live BB ammunition
The bodies of the deceased robbers have been deposited at the Police Hospital Morgue for identification, preservation and autopsy while investigations are ongoing to arrest the remaining suspects.
“We would like to commend officers of the Kpone District Command for the timely response,” a police statement issued on July 21, 2025 noted.
