Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency, Mustapha Gbande has called on the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) to divert its focus on retrieving “stolen money” from former appointees under the erstwhile NPP administration rather than going after Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, August 21, 2025 after the release of Shatta Wale, Mr Gbande said such an action would generate funds worth more than the cost of one Lamborghini vehicle – for which the artiste is facing investigations.
“All the Bhim nation members in EOCO, please leave our boss alone, let us focus on retrieving stolen money from former appointees worth hundreds of lambos other than ours.
“We can’t even identify the seller. The street market does not have receipt. We beg the street is hot,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has expressed gratitude to EOCO officials including its boss, Raymond Archer following his release on bail.
Shortly after he was released on Thursday, August 21, 2025 the ‘Killa Ji MI’ hitmaker in a quick live TikTok session thanked his fans who showed support throughout the period he was detained.
He noted that he’s safely stationed in his residence while showing gratitude to EOCO officials who he said took him through the rightful processes during his arrest.
“As I said, One Don is safe and I’m home now and I just want to say a big thank you for supporting me, for being around me in times like this because I needed you guys. You guys are the ones that hold me down.
“Once again, I want to say shouts out to Nii Original who has been a father to me and he’s been very supportive to me as well,” Wale said.
He continued: “And to all the staff of EOCO, you guys have been wonderful, at least I came there you guys really took me through that rightful processes that was needed and I just want to say God bless you. To Mr. Raymond Archer, I just want to tell you I thank you so much.”
After presenting himself for interrogation on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, he was detained and granted bail to the tune of GHC10 million with two sureties. However, the bail conditions was later varied to GHC5 million which he met and was released.
Shatta Wale was arrested in relation to investigations about how he acquired his Lamborghini vehicle which is suspected to be proceeds of fraud.
His fans massed up at the head office of EOCO on Thursday demanding his release. Music Executive and artiste manager Ricky Nana Agyemang, better known as Bullet who visited the artiste at EOCO’s office also spoke against the arrest.
