The Black Starlets were unlucky as they lost for the second time to hosts Ivory Coast in the WAFU Zone B U-17 Championships.

After a 3-0 loss to the Young Elephants in the second Group A game, the Starlets met their opponents again in the final on Friday.

This time it was a cagey encounter at the Stade Charles Konan Banny in Yamoussoukro as Dr Prosper Ogum’s side held their own against the hosts.

The match ended goalless after extra time.

The winners had to be decided on penalties.

Unfortunately, the Ghanaians missed two of their kicks to hand Ivory Coast the coveted trophy.

Both nations have, however, qualified to represent the zone in the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations to take place in Morocco next year.
