The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has accused Wa Central Member of Parliament, Dr Rashid Pelpuo, of making inaccurate claims about his achievements in the Constituency.

The Wa Central NPP made the accusation in a statement issued on Monday, October 6, 2025, and signed by the Constituency Communication Director, Stephen Naah.

They described the MP’s recent press soiree as “deceptive and shambolic.”

According to the NPP, the MP’s claims about educational infrastructure, healthcare, and water supply projects were false and misleading.
“The Wa Central MP has consistently employed propagandistic tactics to deceive the constituents”, they stated.

The party in the statement alleged that a 3-unit classroom block at Wa Model School was commenced under the Akufo-Addo administration and stalled, contrary to the MP’s claim of initiating the project.

The NPP also denied the MP’s claim of donating desktop computers to the Wa Senior High Technical School, and CADET uniforms to Wa Islamic Girls Senior High School, describing these claims as “completely false and deceptive.”

The statement further questioned the MP’s claim of supporting 150 tertiary students with GHC 335,621.13, challenging him to provide evidence of the students’ details, including their institutions, programs, and levels of study.

“The MP as a yearly ritual comes in under the pretence of organising Mock Examinations which are written but never marked or feedback not delivered to the schools to check the errors that need corrections and for that matter, these exams have become a mode of milking our Common Fund for no desired results,” the statement indicated.

The NPP also cast doubt on the MP’s claim of spending GHC 58,000 on medical bills, citing a previous instance where the MP claimed to have deposited GHC 5,200 for a beneficiary’s treatment.

On water supply, the party alleged that the MP’s claim of constructing four boreholes in 2025 was false, as the boreholes were constructed in 2024 in the run-up to the general elections.

The NPP is urging the media to scrutinise the MP’s claims and demand evidence-based accountability for the utilisation of the constituency’s MP’s Labour projects allocation for the first and second quarters of 2025.
