Ghana continues to record a hike in Mpox infections with the country confirming 36 more new cases of the disease bringing the total to 657.

According to the situational report by the Ghana Health Service (GHS), three deaths have so far been recorded with one person on admission as of September 28, 2025.

Currently, a 21 day Mpox vaccination campaign against the disease is ongoing at some selected communities in the western region which remains the disease’s hot spot.

Some 20,000 doses of the vaccine was deployed to the region on Saturday October 4.
The intervention is to complement current efforts at containing the spread of the disease in the country.

Mpox spreads mainly through close contact with someone who has the infection.
The general public is encouraged to protect themselves and report early to a health facility when ill.
