Black Stars Head Coach Otto Addo has underscored the destiny of his team is in their own hands ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Central African Republic.

For him, lessons must be taken from the last away game against Chad, in which the Stars conceded a late equaliser following a lapse in concentration.

Speaking in an interview ahead of the last away game in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Otto Addo urged focus on the part of his charges from the blast of the referee’s whistle till the ball is claimed by the same referee.

“Everything is in our hands but I hope that we learnt the lesson from the last away game against Chad,” he stressed.

“It is important that we stay focused and concentrated and not think we have already won because that is a big danger.”

The Black Stars could punch their ticket to the 2026 edition with a win on Wednesday against Les Fauves and other results, particularly in the Madagascar-Comoros game, favour them.

They will play Comoros in the final qualifier on Sunday, nonetheless.

Already, the team is brimming with positive energy ahead of the clash.

“It is always like that,” Addo said, “everybody knows what this game is about and I hope we take this positive vibe into the game.”

The match on Wednesday will take place at Stade d’Honneur de Meknès, kicking off at 4:00pm.
