Renowned Ghanaian chef, entrepreneur, and digital food content creator, Chef Abbys says she’s on a mission to feed over 15,000 people on the streets of Accra on October 16, designated for World Food Day.

In a conversation with Godwin Namboh on The Afternoon Show, Chef Abbys expressed her passion for using food to unite and nourish communities.

Chef Abbys’ love for cooking began in senior high school, where she used to cook for her housemistress. She later pursued a degree in construction management but found her true calling in cooking. Her family has been supportive of her career choices, always giving her the go-ahead and guidance she needs.

On World Food Day, Chef Abbys, in partnership with Yango Ghana, will embark on “The Big Street Feast,” a massive food distribution event aimed at feeding over 15,000 people across Accra.

The event will feature food trucks and stands stationed across key neighborhoods, making the city one massive community gathering.

As an African food ambassador, Chef Abbys has cooked meals from 24 countries in Africa and aims to cook a meal from each African country. Her passion for promoting African cuisine has earned her recognition, including a spot on Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential Creators list for 2025.

Chef Abbys credits social media for her success, saying it has helped her reach a wider audience and promote African cuisine globally. She advises people to leverage social media to showcase their talents and passions.

With her dedication to feeding the hungry and promoting African cuisine, Chef Abbys is an inspiration to many. Her efforts are a testament to the power of food to bring people together and make a positive impact on communities.
