Former Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC are back at the summit after a 2-1 win over Dreams FC on Friday, October 10.

The early Matchday 5 kick-off at the TnA Stadium in Tarkwa was one the visitors were determined to win to end a poor start to the 2025/26 season.

Coach Winfred Dormon had indicated in his prematch press conference that he wanted to end his winless run by beating Medeama.

However, in-form Abdul Salam, who was eventually named Man of the Match, opened the scoring in the 19th minute.

His low strike in the penalty area after a good control went through the legs of Dreams FC defender Christian Owusu to beat goalkeeper Osman Wahabu.

On the brink of half time, however, Owusu clinched the equaliser for his side.

After almost 45 minutes of staying level in the second half, Dreams FC conceded an own goal to hand the Mauve and Yellows the win.

Ibrahim Tanko’s side are currently top with 12 points, two more than Heart of Lions who will play Hearts of Oak on Monday.

Medeama SC’s next game will be against FC Samartex while Dreams FC return home to welcome Nations FC.
