The Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, has stated that his office is undertaking a value for money audit on the Boankra Integrated Inland Logistics Terminal project.
He asserts that this audit is essential to establishing evidence of criminality pertaining to the project.
According to Dr. Ayine, the decision to conduct the audit forms part of the crucial measures being implemented to construct strong cases, in collaboration with other legal experts and attorneys within his team, aimed at restricting potential opportunities for defence counsel to obtain acquittals.
His remarks follow the completion of investigations by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) into 12 corruption and corruption-related cases submitted by the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee.
Speaking to the press on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, to provide update on these cases, the Attorney-General stressed the need for a thorough study of the documents to ensure the prosecutions are concrete, citing the Boankra project report as part of the documents they are taking a review at.
“In the case of the Boankra Integrated Inland Logistics Terminal, the report has been returned to my office, we have done the reading and analysis of it and we’ve come to the conclusion that there is the need for us to have a value for money audit because that is the only way by which we’ll determine, the extent to which there was malfeasance relating to the finances of the project.”
Dr. Ayine, however, indicated that they have not yet made any discoveries to establish criminality on the project. “But so far, nothing has been discovered that should cause us to take action in court in terms of criminality.”
The Boankra Integrated Inland Logistics Terminal is among the 12 reports submitted by ORAL that have been concluded by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) investigations.
