The Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, has announced an allocation of GH¢150 million for the Black Stars as they are set to participate in next year’s FIFA World Cup.

The Stars will be making a fifth appearance at the global showpiece in Canada, Mexico and USA.

Ghana will know their opponents and where the team will be based on Friday, December 5 when the draw will be held.

Presenting the 2026 budget statement, Dr Ato Forson said macroeconomic stability has been restored and it is symbolic of a rising Black Stars.

“Mr. Speaker, confidence is returning. The Black Star is rising once more,” he said on Thursday, November 13.

“Ghana is back, strong, stable, and full of hope. And yes, our Black Stars are heading to the World Cup!”

He later announced the allocation for the team at the tournament.

“An amount of GH¢150 million has been allocated for the Black Stars to participate in the World Cup.”
