Christopher Amoako and Nadra Mohammed receive awards at 5th Northern GJA Awards

Media General’s Northern and Savannah Regional correspondents have emerged as Best Education reporter and Most Promising female journalist at the 5th Northern Region Journalists Awards.

Christopher Amoako won the Education reporter for the fourth consecutive time; 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

His story which focuses on the plight of rural teachers was adjudged the best story for the education category. For his award which was sponsored by T-Tel Ghana, he received a plaque, citation and a tablet.

Nadra Mohammed, on the other hand, won a non competitive award for the Most Promising female journalist award.

She received a citation, Plaque and a tablet sponsored by Actionaid.

This year’s event, which celebrated outstanding journalism across the Northern and Savannah Regions was held under the theme: “Bridging the Rural–Urban Education Gap: The Role of the Media.”
