A second-half header by Tae-seok Lee was the only goal in the game.
Crossed from the far right side of attack, the Austria Wien winger headed the ball to the ground only to hit the chest of a hesitant Benjamin Asare for the goal.
Ghana scored twice in the game but both goals were ruled out as offside by the center referee.
First was Prince Adu Kwabena’s superb finish, which was flagged offside, and the second was one by defender Jonas Adjei Adjetey, which would have been his debut goal for the senior national soccer team.
The make-shift side assembled by Otto Addo gave a good account of themselves, stopping the Taegeuk Warriors from any dangerous attacks.
A penalty awarded the hosts was saved by the Hearts of Oak goalkeeper.
The loss is the second in a row to Ghana, having lost 2-0 to Japan in the first game of the Cup on Friday.
The game is the last for the Black Stars this year as they now await their 2026 FIFA World Cup opponents with the draw slated for Friday, December 5.
