A 44-year-old man has died after falling from a storey building at the community center in Abuesi, Shama District.
Assembly Member for the area, Enock Arthur, told Connect News that he received a distressing call early morning on January 8, 2026, reporting a horrifying incident at the community center. Upon arrival, he found the man lying dead in a pool of blood.
Investigations revealed that the deceased, a local taxi driver named Frank Essilfie Ebea, was known to exercise daily on the building’s staircase before heading to work.
The staircase, part of the still-under-construction community center, is lined with tires for safety. However, the Assembly member suspects the tires’ slippery surface may have caused the fatal fall.
Frank, who hailed from the area, leaves behind one child but no wife.
Police have commenced investigations, and the body has been deposited at St. Edward’s Mortuary.
In response, Assembly Member Arthur has implemented immediate safety measures to protect community members while construction at the center continues.
