Asante Kotoko talisman Albert Amoah has called on supporters to remain steadfast and continue backing the team, despite the club trailing Medeama SC by eight points in the Ghana Premier League title race.
Speaking on Akoma FM 87.9MHz, Amoah emphasized the importance of fan support as the team enters a critical phase of the season.
“As you can see, there are still 13 matches to play, so it’s not over. What I’m saying is that our supporters should continue to believe in us and stand by us through both the tough times and the good times. I truly believe that everything is going to be alright,” Amoah said.
The Kotoko forward also highlighted the crucial role of fan support in driving the team’s performance.
“I believe it’s our performance that matters, and our supporters should continue to believe in us. They shouldn’t give up on us, and they should come out in their numbers to support the team. Honestly, without them, it feels like we aren’t playing for anyone,” he added.
Currently, Kotoko sit in fifth place on the league table with 35 points, trailing league leaders Medeama SC by eight points.
With 13 matches remaining in the season, Amoah believes that the club still has a realistic chance of closing the gap and challenging for the title, provided the team maintains focus and enjoys the unwavering support of its fans.
