Assistant coach of Basake Holy Stars Rashad Musah has described his side’s 1-0 victory over Swedru All Blacks as “a very, very tough one” following their Week 23 Ghana Premier League clash at the AAK II Arena in Nzema.

Holy Stars secured all three points thanks to a decisive 60th-minute strike from Jacob Boazee, a goal that ultimately separated the two sides in a tightly contested encounter.

Speaking to the media after the game, Musah acknowledged the tactical challenge posed by the visitors.

“I think it was a very, very tough one — a difficult game by the All Blacks team,” he said.

“Looking at how they approached the game in the first half, they decided to sit back and then go with long balls behind our centre-backs so they could use their striker to find their way through and get a goal.”

The assistant coach praised his team’s resilience and discipline in dealing with the threat, particularly in the opening half where All Blacks’ direct approach tested the home side’s defensive organisation.

“But in all, let me say a very, very big congratulations to us,” Musah added. “It’s a very difficult situation, but the boys showed character.”

Boazee’s 60th-minute effort proved to be the turning point, sending the home supporters into celebration and ensuring Holy Stars capitalised on home advantage at a crucial stage of the season.

The victory lifts Holy Stars to 11th on the league table with 29 points, just three points away from safety as the relegation battle intensifies.

With momentum on their side, Musah and his technical team will be hoping this hard-earned win sparks a strong run of form as they push to secure their top-flight status.
