Medeama SC have annexed the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League following a win over Heart of Lions in a seven-goal thriller at the T N A Stadium in Tarkwa.
It was a Matchday 33 encounter and with the match delayed due to heavy rains, the Yellow and Mauves knew they will be declared winner with all the 3 points as closest challengers Bibiani Goldstars had trailed Dreams FC 3-1 at the Tuba AstroTurf.
Kelvin Obeng opened the scoring with a powerful header from a freekick just outside the penalty area of Heart of Lions.
The Kpando-based side, however, restored parity a few moments later.
Obeng emerged again to slot the ball into the net just before the break to give his side the advantage.
From recess, the pendulum shifted to Derrick Fordjour, whose two goals shot his side up not only to winning the game but also winning the title.
Though a penalty awarded the visitors saw them reduce their deficit through Etse Dogli, his national team mate Prince Owusu got a last laugh as he hit a powerful drive into the roof of the goal to end the match 5-2.
With a total of 62 points, Medeama SC are champions with a final game against Hearts of Oak in hand.
