‎In a major operation, the Bono Regional Police Command, in collaboration with the 3rd Infantry Battalion (3BN) and the Bureau of National Intelligence (BNI), successfully executed a joint operation in Sampa Township, resulting in the recovery of eight assorted weapons and the arrest of 24 suspects.

‎The tactical operation took place in the early hours of March 21, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to eliminate weapons and criminal activities from the region.

‎During the operation, authorities recovered a cache of weapons and related items, including: five (5) pump ‎action guns, one (1) baikal gun, two (2) locally made guns, 790 rounds of ‎AAA&BB Cartridges, one (1) pouch, seven (7) pairs of black boots and ‎desert boots, six whiskers, 21 machetes, four (4) bayonets, five (5) ‎clubs, two (2) foreign military jackets, two (2) body amours-one without ‎metal plate, one AK 47 ammunition, six (6) assorted keypad phones, 12 ‎assorted smart phones, one official stamp marked “Nana Samgba Gyafla ‎ll President Sampa Traditional council, Eight (8) assorted motorbikes, ‎one pair of pliers, one chisel, six (6) knives, one torchlight, one Ripshaw ‎and a quantity of talisman.



‎Among the arrested suspects are individuals ranging in age from 13 to 78 years. The suspects arrested are Losina Ibrahim, aged 21, Siaka Sirachi, aged ‎20, Nketia Samuel, aged 58, Wuli Kwabena Mensah, aged 54, Daniel ‎Damoah aged 16, Sie Mayr Alphonses, aged 17, Musah Shakure, aged ‎13, Akwasi Bio, aged 16, Mensah Kofi Emmanuel, aged 18, Sie Kwadwo ‎Bright, aged 20, Yunus Mohammed, aged 25, Mohammed Watara, aged ‎54, Abu Karim, aged 15, Sereboma Latif, aged13, Sampson Kraa Yaw, ‎aged 44.

The rest are; Issifu Karim, aged 22, Amadu Mahama Subo, aged 25, Okra Macus Akwasi, aged 17, Sie Emmanuel, aged 28, Amid Issah, aged 56, ‎Abu Amadu, aged 56, Takyi Poku, aged 78, Baba Yeboah Adams, aged ‎44 and Sah Kwaku Ankamah, aged 33.

‎Two of the suspects, Sie Emmanuel and Mensah Kofi Emmanuel, were ‎apprehended for breach of curfew regulation.

‎Currently, the arrested individuals are in police custody, where they are assisting with investigation.

‎The Bono Regional Police Command is urging the public to provide credible information that can help in identifying and apprehending persons in possession of illegal weapons, as the force aims to enhance safety throughout the region.‎
