The Ministry of Sports and Recreation has issued a clarification regarding misleading social‑media claims that the Minister sponsored business‑class tickets to some individuals to Germany for the Black Stars’ friendly match on Monday.

According to a statement issued by the Head of Public Relations and Communications at the Ministry, Bagbara Tanko, the allegations are false and baseless.

The statement, issued on Monday, March 29, explained that the individuals featured in a circulating video only had a brief encounter with Kofi Iddie Adams at the airport departure tunnel while he was about boarding a flight to Germany alone.

The statement described this as a common casual interaction between public officials and citizens.

“No staff of the Ministry or any delegation accompanied him on this trip,” the statement stressed.

“No individual was sponsored, facilitated, or upgraded by the Minister or the Ministry for this trip.”

It further noted that the Ministry has not committed anything funds, whether from its budget or through corporate sponsorship, towards the two international friendly games.

“Consequently, no arrangements or support have been made for fan participation or tadvel in any form.”

The statement urged the public to disregard the “misleading narratives being circulated”.

“The Ministry remains committed to transparency, accountability, and prudent use of public resources.”
