The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has parted ways with the Head Coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo, following a string of bad results.

The decision takes immediate effect, the nation’s football-governing body said after the 2-1 loss to Germany on Monday.

“The Association wishes to thank Otto Addo sincerely for his contribution to the team and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours,” the GFA said in a statement.

It noted that the new technical direction of the team will be announced “in due course”.

This is the second time Otto Addo is leaving the team.

He left immediately after the 2022 FIFA World Cup, where he failed to lead the team past the group phase.

He was, however, contracted again by the GFA after a rigorous search following the sacking of Chris Hughton.

After two years of being in charge, the former midfielder is leaving, this time before the World Cup.

It is unclear whether he will leave with his backroom staff including former players Fatawu Dauda and John Paintsil.
