The cause of the fire outbreak, which occurred on June 3, is yet to be determined.

Speaking to newsmen, an officer of the GNFS, Alex King Nartey said their focus is to ensure the fire does not spread further.
“The Ghana Commercial Bank is near; the Ghana Water Company office is also close. We want to protect all these facilities,” he said.
He also indicated that some of the traders have been able to salvage some of the wares.
“We suspect electrical fault,” he said in response to a question on possible cause of the fire.
According to Mr Nartey, one of the fire personnel got injured.
“He suffered a life-threatening injury and has been sent to the hospital for treatment. Other officers are experiencing electrical shocks when they enter to put out the fire,” he stated.
