A major broadcast station in the North East Region, Nobyah FM/TV, has been reduced to ashes following a destructive fire outbreak early Saturday morning, leaving the station’s operations completely paralyzed.
According to the Station Manager, Yaw Boakye, the incident occurred around 5:00 a.m on Saturday June 27 shortly after a power outage.

A technician on duty reported that when power was restored, he discovered the studio engulfed in thick smoke and flames.

In a desperate attempt to save the facility, the technician immediately sought assistance from the Nalerigu Fire Service station located just 100 meters away from Nobyah FM.

However, the response proved inadequate as fire personnel arrived without a fire tender, equipped only with a small fire extinguisher that failed to contain the rapidly spreading fire.
The studio has been completely destroyed with no equipment salvaged from the wreckage.

Nobyah FM/TV has long served as a vital voice for the North East Region, providing essential information to thousands of residents.
The loss of this station marks a significant blow to the local media landscape as Management and the community look toward a difficult path to recovery.
