The Government has begun its third and final Cabinet session to consider and conclude deliberations on its Position Paper on the Constitutional Review proposals, according to Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
In a brief update in an X post on Tuesday, July 14, Kwakye Ofosu announced that the final Cabinet meeting is currently underway, marking a significant step in the government’s efforts to formulate its official position on proposals aimed at reviewing Ghana’s Constitution.
The session is expected to enable Cabinet to finalise its consideration of the recommendations before the government’s position paper is adopted and made public.
Cabinet has already held preliminary deliberations on the document, with only a few outstanding amendment proposals left to be addressed before final approval is granted.
The constitutional review process is intended to examine proposals for reforms to Ghana’s 1992 Constitution, with the aim of strengthening governance, improving democratic institutions and addressing emerging national concerns.
The outcome of the final Cabinet deliberations is expected to shape the government’s response to the constitutional reform proposals and guide the next phase of the review process.
Further details are expected after the Cabinet concludes its deliberations.
