The pairings for this year’s Onua-Atena Community League have been drawn in a special ceremony held at the studios of Onua TV on Tuesday, July 28.
Over 60 entries were received for the 2nd edition of the community league.
With this year’s edition planned to be held at one venue, the McDan Park in La, the 32 teams were put into four zones of eight.
Each zone had two teams from the surrounding communities as decided by organisers.
General Manager of Onua Group Stephen Schandorf expressed high expectations of the 2026 edition, calling on teams to step up performance.
“Last year, we witnessed a very exciting gala and we had very good teams,” he said.
“It was a great success and we enjoyed the various teams and this year we believe it is going to be grand.”
He used the opportunity to thank the title sponsors Atena NLA for coming on board.
On their part, representatives of the headline sponsors expressed excitement to be part of such a competition to unearth sporting talents.
“We’d held a couple of such competitions in communities and we realised it helps develop football and you know what sports does to unite Ghanaians as we saw during the 2026 FIFA World Cup” remarked Duke Amihere, the Marketing Manager of Atena NLA.
“So, joining Onua TV/FM for this, we believe it is not just a sponsorship or partnership, it is to drive towards increasing and promoting sports in general and also helping communities and people who love football and willing to show their talent to do that and do it to the best of their ability.”
Customer Experience Manager Joel Addae could not hide his excitement for the partnership and believes there will be more traction not only in the communities involved but across the nation.
“We will have lots of packages for all during the competition,” he promised.

The draw saw defending champions Ashaiman Revelations drawn against Amasaman Goal Soccer Academy in Zone B.
