The search for the next queen of Ghana’s most prestigious and culturally authentic pageant, Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB), officially began on the glittering night of Sunday, August 2, 2026.

Set against the elegant backdrop of the Labadi Beach Hotel, this year’s launch was a true national celebration, marking a major milestone: the 20th anniversary of a show that has served as Ghana’s cultural compass for two decades.

The event was broadcast live on TV3, and sixteen eloquent, talented, and beautiful young women were formally unveiled to the nation as the official Reps for GMB’26.

This year’s theme, “Celebration: GMB@20 — Celebrating 20 Years of Culture, Grace and Legacy,” set the tone for a night that looked back on two decades of impact while looking ahead to the season to come.

The launch was lit up by live performances from Lasmid and Adina, a three-time GMB theme song composer whose music has become woven into the fabric of the show’s history.

The night’s musical lineup also featured a performance from Kwaku Shai, a standout from TV3’s Mentor Season XIV, “The Breakout Edition.” This year’s official theme songs were unveiled by their composers, Enam Music and Michael Adangba, who took to the stage to premiere the sounds that will carry GMB’26 through the season.

Clad in rich, symbolic attire representing their regions, the contestants once again embodied the values, traditions, and aspirations of the people they will spend the coming weeks representing.

Twenty years after its very first season, GMB remains unmatched in its ability to blend entertainment with education, using storytelling, tradition, and performance to ignite national pride and celebrate the depth of Ghana’s cultural diversity.

The launch also introduced the team steering this milestone season. Anita Akua Akuffo and Cookie Tee were unveiled as this year’s hosts, while Janet Sunkwa-Mills and Nana Hemaa Adwoa Awindor will anchor the judging panel as this season’s judges, joined week to week by other experts depending on the topic under discussion.

Through these sixteen women, Ghana will once again project its rich cultural tapestry to the world, with pride, elegance, and authenticity.

Beyond the unveiling of the new reps, the night doubled as a royal ball befitting a milestone anniversary. The evening incorporated a fundraising drive in support of the GMB Legacy Project, alongside a heartfelt recognition segment honouring the judges and crew members who have shaped GMB behind the scenes over the years.

In a fitting tribute to two decades of storytelling, the event also celebrated the show’s winners, first runners-up, and second runners-up from every season since GMB’s inception in 2007, a gathering that brought together champions and finalists across twenty years under one roof, honouring the full lineage of queens who have carried the GMB crown and legacy forward.

A total of sixteen contestants representing each region in the country were unveiled during the launch, held at the Labadi Beach Hotel, Accra, as GMB marks its milestone 20th anniversary.

Meet the reps for GMB’26: the sixteen contestants who will carry the torch this milestone season are: Ampomaa – Ashanti Region, Anile – Bono East Region, Arhinmaa – Western Region, Tiwaa – Western North Region, Piimi – North East Region, Boatemaa – Oti Region, Nana Ama – Ahafo Region and Ohenewaa – Eastern Region.

The rest are; Kiba – Savannah Region, Lamiley – Greater Accra Region, An-Suaf Daabu – Upper West Region, Sessinam – Volta Region, Basi – Northern Region, Ayinboma – Upper East Region, Besiwaa – Central Region and Nana Konadu – Bono Region.

Each of these young women carries a unique story, a rich cultural heritage, and a personal commitment to impact — not just for her region, but for Ghana as a whole.

To mark two decades of the pageant, organisers have unveiled an enhanced winner’s package for this year’s queen. This year’s winner will drive away with a new crown, a car, a cash prize of GH₵200,000, a scholarship for a master’s programme, and a gold jewellery set. Beyond the physical rewards, the eventual queen will also have the opportunity to represent Ghana at the Miss Earth global pageant and will secure an ambassadorial deal with a sponsoring brand, giving her a platform that extends well beyond the show itself.

The grand finale for GMB@20 is scheduled for October 18, 2026, at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, with additional anniversary activities including a fashion show and a folklore-themed event at the University of Ghana Amphitheatre planned to broaden the season’s celebrations.

For twenty years, GMB has remained more than a pageant. It is the only television programme that unites a teenager in Tamale, a grandmother in Winneba, and a trader in Kaneshie all seated, cheering, and debating with equal passion, week after week.

As the show marks this milestone anniversary, its legacy runs deep. The platform has served not only as a launchpad for personal transformation, but also for advocacy and national service, with past queens continuing to represent the enduring spirit of GMB long after their reigns end.

GMB is not just television. It is an evolving cultural archive. It is empowerment in motion. It is Ghana — beautiful, diverse, and united.

So as the 20th season unfolds week after week, remember: this is not merely a show. It reflects who we are, where we’ve come from, and where we hope to go.

Tune in every Sunday from 8:00–10:00 PM on TV3. And Let’s Make A Queen.
