The race for the GMB@20 crown has become tighter, with Anile of the Bono East region and Basi of the Northern region becoming the latest contestants to exit Ghana’s Most Beautiful.
Their eviction on Sunday September 6, 2026, makes them the second batch of contestants to leave the competition, after Nana Ama and Piini were evicted a week earlier.
The latest departures mean 12 ladies are now left in the competition, all hoping to secure the ultimate prize in the 20th-anniversary edition of GMB.
The Week Six episode, themed “Rhythms of Our Land,” gave the contestants the opportunity to celebrate Ghana’s musical and cultural heritage through traditional songs, dances, storytelling and costumes.
Representing the Northern Region, Basi took viewers into the musical heritage of the area, drawing inspiration from the legendary spirit of Naa Gbewaa and the traditional Bla dance.
Her presentation blended powerful rhythms, storytelling and contemporary melodies while exploring the origins of a dance that has united the people of Dagbang across generations.
Through music and movement, Basi celebrated patriotism, identity and cultural pride.
However, her journey in the competition came to an end after Sunday’s eviction.
Anile also used the night to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Bono East Region.
She took viewers on a rhythmic journey from Yeji to Techiman through the indigenous songs and dances of Ɛbɔfoɔ and Apoɔ.
Through Ɛbɔfoɔ, she brought the courage and movements of the traditional hunter to life, while Apoɔ used songs, proverbs and dance to give the people a voice.
The performance highlighted a Bono East identity rooted in courage, expression and heritage.
Anile’s eviction means she joins Nana Ama, Piini and Basi among the contestants who have exited the competition so far.
While Anile and Basi’s journeys came to an end, Sessinam of the Volta Region enjoyed a standout night, emerging as the Star Performer.
Her performance explored the musical heritage of the Volta Region, featuring Agbadza, Borborbor, Zigi and Atiblaga.
Tiwaa of the Western North Region won Best Costume, while Ohenewaa of the Eastern Region was named Most Eloquent.
Anile had earlier been named Kivo Woman of the Week.
The performances were assessed by judges Nana Adwoa Awindor, Dr Terry Bright and Dr Sarah Dorgbadzi.
With four contestants already out of the competition, the remaining 12 ladies now face an even tougher battle as the GMB@20 journey continues towards the ultimate prize.
