The Ashanti Central District Police Command has secured the conviction and sentencing of 22-year-old Christian Owusu for his involvement in a robbery incident reported on July 21, 2026.
According to the Police, the victim reported that at about 12:21 p.m. on July 21, she was on her way to Konkromase Township when she was threatened and robbed of her handbag containing personal belongings and cash.
Following investigations, police arrested Owusu on August 4, 2026.
He was subsequently arraigned before the Atasemanso Circuit Court on August 7, 2026, presided over by His Lordship Kwaku Baah Frimpong.
Owusu was charged with robbery and pleaded guilty, leading to his conviction on his own plea.
Before sentencing, the convict appealed to the court for forgiveness. However, after considering his plea, the court sentenced him to a minimum of 10 years’ imprisonment with hard labour (IHL).
Christian Owusu has since been handed over to the authorities at the Kumasi Central Prisons to begin serving his sentence.
