All 47 aspirants who filed to contest the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2026 National Officers election have been cleared by the party’s vetting committee.
The clearance follows a four-day vetting exercise conducted from August 31 to September 3, 2026.
The exercise covered aspirants vying for nine national leadership positions. In a statement signed by Chairman of the National Officers’ Elections Committee, Frederick Opare-Ansah on Saturday, September 5, 2026, the party said all aspirants who appeared before the Vetting Committee met the eligibility requirements.
“The party said all the aspirants who appeared before the committee met the eligibility requirements and were deemed suitable to contest,” the statement noted.
The National Vice-Chairperson race attracted the highest number of aspirants with 13 persons cleared.
It is followed by the National Organiser position with eight aspirants. Six aspirants were cleared for the National Youth Organiser position, while five will contest the National Nasara Organiser position.
Meanwhile, four aspirants each were cleared for National Chairman, General Secretary and National Treasurer. Two aspirants were cleared for National Women’s Organiser, while only one aspirant was cleared for National Communications Director.

The party will conduct balloting on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at its headquarters in Accra to determine positions of aspirants on the ballot paper.
According to the Committee, aspirants are to attend the exercise in person or delegate authorised representatives. The National Officers Elections Committee thanked members of the vetting committee, the aspirants and the public for their cooperation.
It said it remains committed to ensuring transparency and credibility in the remaining processes while safeguarding unity within the party.
