The Asankragwa Divisional Police Command has dismissed 10 reported cases of alleged missing genitalia within its operational area.

The police say medical examinations have proven that all complaints were unfounded and that the genitalia of complainants are intact and medically normal.

The Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Vitus Napen, who disclosed this at a press briefing in Asankragwa on Monday, October 26, 2026, said the first incident was reported at Wassa Dunkwa on October 17, followed by nine additional reports.

According to him, Wassa Dunkwa recorded six cases, Asankragwa recorded two, while Aboi Nkwanta and Breman recorded one case each.

He said in each instance, complainants alleged that their genitalia disappeared immediately after physical contact with other individuals, but medical examinations ordered by the police confirmed they were in normal medical condition.

He attributed the false allegations to widespread panic, anxiety and misinformation.

Chief Superintendent Napen also disclosed that at Breman, a mob attacked a police patrol team sent to rescue a suspect accused of stealing a man’s genitalia and smashed the rear windscreen of the patrol vehicle in an attempt to lynch the suspect.

He warned that persons who assault security officers or destroy state property will be arrested and prosecuted, adding that raising false alarms and deceiving public officers carry legal consequences.

He urged traditional authorities, assembly members and community leaders in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipality to educate residents against taking the law into their own hands and to allow the police to investigate complaints through established legal processes.
