Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the Member of Parliament for Juaboso, has established how unconscionable it is for the Vice President to promise businesses tax amnesty.

He says the Vice President does not stand by his words, making one promise today and contradicting same the next day.

The MP says his comments stem from Bawumia’s inconsistency in his utterances, with taxation in perspective.

According to Akandoh, the New Patriotic Party’s flag bearer told Ghanaians the tax net needs to be expanded in order to generate more revenue for the state, only to turn around and promise the private sector tax amnesty should he become President.

Akandoh said on Onua FM’s Pae Mu Ka Friday, March 22, 2024, that the Vice President cannot introduce so many taxes as head of the Economic Management team and turn around to promise amnesty upon assumption of office as head of the Executive.
