President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has fulfilled his promise to Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC.

The President had promised to help the Tarkwa-based side with GH¢1 million in their continental campaign after officials called on him in August when they won the domestic title.

The promise had delayed in coming with the Mauves and Yellows already beginning their campaign in the CAF Champions League.

On Thursday, December 14, Minister of Youth and Sports Mustapha Ussif presented a cheque for GH¢1 million to the Member of Parliament for Tarkwa Nsuaem, George Mireku Duker, to be given to the team.

On behalf of President Akufo-Addo, the Sports Minister wished the team well.

Medeama SC are currently 3rd in Group D after the first round of matches.

They will travel to Tanzania for their next game against Young Africans SC (Yanga) on Wednesday, December 20.
