Several calls have come for the President, Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to reshuffle some of his ministers and appointees.
But he has insisted his appointees are doing well and his government, does not need a reshuffle.
This, Captain Smart, host of Onua TV/FM’s morning show, Maakye, has agreed with the President.
Speaking on his show Tuesday, August 16, 2022, Mr Smart noted the appointees are really doing well in terms of corruption, thievery and other deeds that has rendered the country to its current state.
He asserts the president is being adamant on the calls from various quarters to carry out a reshuffle for fear of some skeletons that might be opened when some people are taken off their appointments.
“Nana Addo, instead of you to reshuffle your ministers, you say they’re doing well. In fact I agree with you. They’re doing well in corruption, visa racketeering, chopping small girls,” he alleged.
He added the president’s own cousin, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has indirectly demeaned the Akufo-Addo administration, regarding his comments on the worse state of the economy.
“Gabby himself has said the economy is hard. He is indirectly saying Nana has failed and nothing is working but he can’t say it directly,” he insinuated.
With renowned institutions and personalities calling for a reshuffle, Captain Smart was asking “why is Nana refusing the reshuffle despite the numerous calls? Is he afraid someone would spill a bean? At the last meeting of the Bank of Ghana, they called for a reshuffle. Prof. Agyeman Duah of the Kufuor Institute and other CSOs have all called for the sacking of the Agric and Finance ministers but you claim they’re doing well.”
He asserts the president has exhausted all his leadership prowess, making him irrelevant at the moment.
“Nana Addo has become like a ceiling fan that has been on for long. It only produces heat. Nana is now producing heat. If you surround yourself with fools, you become a fool. The party foot soldiers are angry. Okyenhene, Otumfuo are all angry,” he ranted.
However, Captain Smart was livid the government only arrests people who speak the truth about the economy and their poor performance.
