A former Chief of Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces, Brigadier General Joseph Nunoo-Mensah has warned of a civil uprising which would be worse than a coup d’etat if care is not taken.

This he said was revealed in a dream he had on the eve of the December 2020 elections, the implications of which would be disastrous if care is not taken.

He says things have been worsened under Akufo-Addo to the extent that, there could be chaos if the citizens decide to burst out their fury out of a civil uprising.

According to him, because Ghanaians lack the courage to speak, leadership think all is well.

The old soldier said; in his dream, there was a plane crash, distorting things in the country, initiating a civil uprising where everything was scattered.

What he saw, he told Captain Smart, would be worse off than a coup d’etat should it become a reality, because, he explained a coup d’etat is more organised than when there is total chaos in a country.

“I had a dream on December 7, 2020 before the election. There was a plane crash. There was total chaos and what happened to Ghana, a coup d’etat is even better.

“A coup is better because, when there is chaos, anyone can just pick a weapon and kill you. What I saw is a civil uprising. I heard you (Captain Smart) have been arrested [when you spoke about civil uprising some time ago]. Why didn’t they come to me because I have also been speaking. But in a coup there is some sort of order.

“We don’t have the courage to speak the truth. When you speak they arrest you. Many of the older generation can’t speak because they can’t even walk or do anything on their own. Except me who’s still strong and can talk,” he explained on Maakye Monday, August 15, 2022.
