Sunday, August 20, 2023 edition of ShowTime with McBrown was a special edition as the programme was dedicated to the host in honour of her birthday which fell on Tuesday, August 15.

The night was flooded with surprises of both gifts and artistes who thrilled the studio and audience outside.

The nature of the event warranted extra tents outside where audience were hosted to partake in the celebration with the host.

After goodwill messages from the panelists on the day, 2021 VGMA Artiste of the Year, Diana Antwi Hamilton, stormed the set to perform for the utmost jubilation of the audience, both in and outside the studio.

After Diana Hamilton came the energetic Akosua Agyapong who never disappoints with her live performance, getting everyone on their feet throughout the time she held the microphone.

After Brother Sammy’s ministration which ushered the cutting of cakes and presentation of gifts, McBrown, the host, was delivering her closing remarks to end the show, when Highlife sensation, Akwaboah Jnr. appeared from nowhere.

The bewilderment on Nana Ama’s face was an expression of her love for the surprise and the artiste who had come on the set to climax what has been the most memorable birthday celebration of the 46-year-old presenter.

The ‘Me nni babiara kɔ’ (I’ve got nowhere to go) hitmaker was performing the song when Nana told him to live up to the lyrics of the track by staying behind to perform for the audience after close of the show ’till mama calls.’

Family and friends who graced the occasion with loved ones from far and near to celebrate the icon’s birthday with her enjoyed every bit of the performances, especially with the ecstatic music from the artistes.
