Egyptian giants Al Ahly have contacted the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for a postponement of their Champions League match against Medeama SC.
The record champions are scheduled to play their Ghanaians champions at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday, February 23 in a Group D clash.
But according to the side, their plane, which jetted off from Cairo on Wednesday, developed a breakdown at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra.
The team was to transit Accra to Kumasi but the breakdown is said to have caused a delay in departure to Ghana’s second largest city.

The Egyptians, therefore, want the match to be delayed for at least 24 hours.
They currently lead Group D with 6 points while the Ghanaians are languishing bottom with 4 points from three games.
A win for Medeama SC will boost their chances of making it to the quarter-finals.
