Assin Appimanim Traditional Council in the Assin South District of the Central Region has placed a ban on noise making.

This means social events and activities like weddings, engagements, funerals, and other outdoor events associated with noise-making effective October 16, 2022 have been banned until November 20, 2022.

By this directive, a bereaved family cannot bury their dead relatives during the period in which the ban is in force.

Speaking at a press conference at Assin Manso, the Chief of Assin Andoe, who doubles as the Adontenhene of Apimanim Traditional Council, Nana Kwaku Atta Banafo III explained that the directive forms part of the activities put in place towards the final funeral rites of the late Chief of Assin Apimanim, Barima Kwame Nkyi XII, who died 6 years ago.

He, therefore, advised all the divisional areas including villages under the division to adhere to the directives as failure to do so attracts a punishment.

Barima Kwame Nkyi’s funeral is due and for that reason all villages in the paramountcy are to observe the silence for the period in question to ensure everything goes on successfully. Anybody that fails to do that will be sanctioned by the authority,” he said.

He asserts further that the Traditional Council does not bury its chiefs with human heads therefore parents are entreated to watch the movement of their children since unscrupulous persons could hide behind the chief’s funeral and kill innocent citizens.
