Basake Holy Stars have clinched their first win of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League and that came in grand style as they beat champions Bibiani Goldstars 2-0 at the AAK II Park in Ampain.
First-half goals from Prince Opoku and Prince Tweneboah gave the bottom-placed side all the three points in the Matchday fixture.
Before Sunday’s encounter, Holy Stars were one of two clubs without a win in the league since its commencement in September. Eleven Wonders are the other side.
Holy Stars had lost five and drawn twice going into the Matchday 9 clash on Sunday.
But experienced coach Augustine Evans Adotey ensured that they got their first 3 points off the champions.
Their next game will be at home against Vision FC before playing Asante Kotoko in an outstanding match on Wednesday, November 19.
