A young woman, believed to be in her early 20s, was fatally shot on June 10 around 3:00pm in Seker, a suburb of the Pru East District.
Her supposed boyfriend is implicated in the shooting, which occurred during her visit to the village with him and his two friends.
The victim sustained a gunshot wound to her left arm. Police intercepted their vehicle, which was reportedly fleeing the scene, and rushed her to St. Martin’s Hospital in Yeji.
Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The alleged culprit, Hayford Boateng, 31, identified as the supposed boyfriend, has been taken into custody.
His two friends, Kojo Emmanuel, 28, and Michael Kabutey, 34, who were present during the incident, are also being held by the Yeji police command to assist with the ongoing investigation.
