Black Stars defender Alexander Djiku has signed two-year contract with Russian giants Spartak Moscow.
The deal was announced by the club on Tuesday, September 9.
“The 31-year-old central defender of Fenerbahce and the Ghana national team has signed a two-year contract with our club,” the club stated on its official social media pages.
“We are glad to welcome the newcomer and wish him success in the red and white T-shirt!”
The announcement comes a day after the central defender scored Ghana’s winner against Mali in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
His 49th minute goal – albeit scrappy – shot the four-time African champions to a three-point lead in Group I.
Djiku is joining the Red and Whites from Turkish giants Fenerbahce, who recently parted ways with manager Jose Mourinho after their exit from the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League.
