Two-time champions DR Congo came from one goal down to beat Guinea 3-1 in the quarter-finals of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.

A Mohamed Bayo penalty had given the Syli Nationale the needed hope on Friday to make it to the semi-final of the tournament for the first time since 1976.

However, DR Congo’s captain Chancel Mbemba restored parity seven minutes later.

After the break, the Leopards seemed to have found their rhythm, capitalizing on a counter to squeeze out a penalty.

Yoane Wissa stepped up to beat Ibrahim Koné in post for the Guineans.

Later on, Fuka Masuaku’s outstanding free kick beat Koné to give the former champions a 3-1 win.

They will next face the winner of the Ivory Coast-Mali encounter.

Earlier in the day, Nigeria pipped Angola to become the first nation to make it to the semi-finals.
