Presidential Aide, Dr. Sammy Ayeh, has affirmed that Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George, has delivered on his promise to ensure a reduction in DSTv subscription fees in Ghana.

According to Dr. Ayeh, the facts speak for themselves and “The fundamental question we all need to ask is simple: have DSTv subscription prices been reduced or not, as Sam George said they would? The answer is yes,” he stressed.

Speaking on Onua FM, he explained that a subscription package such as the Compact Plus, which cost GHS 570 just three days ago, is now available at GHS 380.

“If we do the math, it is clear that there has been a legitimate and significant reduction. What Sam George has done is in the interest of the people of Ghana. Because of his intervention, Ghanaians are enjoying lower DSTv prices,” Dr. Ayeh emphasized.

In response to claims that the reductions are merely a temporary promotion, Dr. Ayeh clarified that DSTv has issued a statement confirming the price adjustments are directly linked to negotiations held with Sam George.

“DSTV has made it clear that these reductions are not just a promotion. They are part of the outcome of recent talks with Hon. Sam George. After three months, there will be a review, and the prices may be maintained or reduced further,” he explained.

Dr. Ayeh called on the public to recognize the effort and not allow misinformation to overshadow the development.

“This is a significant achievement we must all acknowledge. We should not allow propaganda to undermine the progress our leaders are working hard to achieve,” he stated.

The reduction in DSTv subscription fees follows months of public outcry over rising costs and concerns about fairness in pricing.

Sam George has been at the forefront of this campaign, pushing for consumer-friendly reforms in Ghana’s pay-TV sector although many Ghanaians still believe he increased value and not the prices.
