Socialite Efia Odo has revealed why she pulled out as a frontier for one of the biggest protest ever on Ghana’s soil, #FixTheCountry demonstration.

She says the campaign which sought to demand an overhaul of Ghana’s Constitution “got bloody, which led to deaths [and] I had to change the way of doing things.”

The #FixTheCountry campaign is a movement which is demanding a new constitution for the Republic owing to the obsolescence of the 1992 document.

In 2021, the movement organized a demonstration against state actors to recodify the constitution. Efia Odo used her influence on social media to mobilise support for the protest but pulled out at the tail end.

Speaking with Felicia Osei on Onua FM’s Midmorning show, ‘Adwuma Adwuma’ Wednesday, January 11, 2023, Efia said she pulled out to save her life.
