Host of GhanAkoma on Akoma FM, Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin, has been adjudged the Ashanti region ‘Morning Show Host of Year 2022’ in the Floodlight Media Excellence Awards.
The award scheme also rewarded Akoma FM‘s current affairs and political show GhanAkoma as the ‘Best Morning Show Program of the Year 2022’.
In effect, Akoma FM grabbed two awards for having the best morning show host and the best morning show for the year under review.

This is the second consecutive time Kofi Asante has won the prestigious award he bagged in 2021.
The two-year-old show won the award which was determined by a 70 per cent voting privilege for the public and 30 per cent for the award academy.

During his open remarks, Chief Executive of Floodlight Media Excellence Awards, Augustine Acquah, explained “the award is in recognition of the show’s contribution to the broadcast media in Ghana for sustainable national and socioeconomic development.”
This award adds up to Kofi Asante’s numerous collections after he was adjudged the Radio Personality of the year by the RTP 2022 awards; Overall Best Morning Show Host in the Ashanti Region at the 2020 Africa Quality Awards whilst the maiden edition of the Floodlight Media Excellence Awards in 2021 also conferred on him an honorary award on April 4.
The colourful event on Saturday, January 14, 2023 brought together outstanding media personalities, traditional rulers, and major stakeholders and players within the media Industry.
The Producer of Akoma FM’s GhanAkoma, Nana Asenso Mensah, who received the award on behalf of the entire team thanked cherished listeners of Akoma97.1 FM for making it one of the most listened to in Kumasi.
He explained that “though we are just two years old in the market, we are not just rocking shoulders with the ‘big fishes’ but we are the big fish which has been a force to reckon. On behalf of the entire Media General Group, we promise our listeners, followers and lovers to be on top of the market to churn out nothing but the best contents to educate, entertain and inform the public. To our cherished business partners and advertisers who have held us down, the best is yet to come.”
He further acknowledged organizers of the award for promoting hard work and professionalism.
