The Forestry Commission has issued a stern warning to the public following the widespread circulation of false claims on social media about an ongoing recruitment exercise.
In an official statement signed by the Head of Corporate Affairs and Media Relations Unit, Joyce Kwarfo, the Commission clarified the matter unequivocally.
“The attention of the Forestry Commission (FC) has been drawn to the circulation of fake recruitment letters and advertisements on various online platforms
and social media channels, purporting to be from the Forestry Commission. The Commission wishes to categorically state that it is not conducting any recruitment
exercise at the moment,” the Commission declared.
According to the Commission, “These messages are the work of some unscrupulous individuals seeking to deceive unsuspecting people and extort money from them under the pretense of offering employment.
They urged the general public to exercise maximum vigilance and disregard any such false publications.
“The Forestry Commission does not charge any fees for recruitment processes, and all official announcements regarding job vacancies are made through
credible media outlets, our official website (www.fcghana.org), and our verified social media pages (X: Forestry Commission GH, Facebook: Forestry Comm Ghana, Instagram: the_forestry_commission),” Madam Kwarfo wrote.
She assured that, “The Commission is working with the appropriate security agencies to investigate these scams and bring the perpetrators to justice. We encourage anyone with relevant information on the origin or circulation of such fraudulent materials to report to the nearest police station or contact the Forestry
Commission directly via our official communication channels.
