The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted the teacher seen in a viral video having an immoral affair with a student at a place said to be the science laboratory of the Bole Senior High School in the Savannah region.

The interdiction follows the circulation of a video on social media which allegedly shows a teacher and a student of the school in a sexual encounter.

The act, widely circulated on social media is against the rules of the Ghana Education Service (GES) and seen as a sexual misconduct involving a student and a teacher.

A statement issued by the Head of Public Relations of GES, Daniel Fenyi, on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, said the Service had commenced investigations into the matter and interdicted the teacher in accordance with its regulations pending the outcome of the inquiry.

“The management of GES has taken notice of a video circulating on social media involving alleged sexual misconduct between a teacher and a student of Bole Senior High School,” the statement said.

It explained that the teacher had been removed from active duty while investigations continue.

Some accounts emerging alongside the video allege that the teacher is a science tutor who teaches Chemistry and Physics, and that the incident occurred in one of the school’s science laboratories, and that the student involved is a final-year student who is left with two WASSCE papers to write before completing her programme.

GES said it had not confirmed those details. The Service, has, however condemned all forms of inappropriate relationships between teachers and students and reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on sexual misconduct.

It also reminded members of staff of their responsibility to uphold professional standards and conduct at all times.

The statement said appropriate disciplinary and legal action would be taken against any person found culpable after investigations are completed.

Mr Fenyi said GES was treating the matter seriously and would provide further information when necessary.
