The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has charged 10 players for “unsporting behaviour” in the Matchday 19 Ghana Premier League game involving Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko last Sunday.

The second-half brawl led to a suspension of proceedings by referee George Mawuli Vormawor.

Asante Kotoko’s Justice Blay and Mohammed Camara as well as Nsoatreman’s Stephen Diyou were red-carded after the incident before play resumed.

A day after the game, which ended 1-0 in favour of Nsoatreman, the Disciplinary Committee of the GFA has charged seven more players, aside the three sanctioned during the game.

These players are Frank Dongballe, Abdul Rahaman Mohammed, Walid Neymar Fuseini, Mohammed Issaka and Eric Osei Bonsu, all of Nsoatreman FC.

The rest, Kotoko players, are Samba O’Neil and Andrews Ntim Manu.

“It is alleged that these players engaged in unsporting behaviour during the Ghana Premier League Matchday 19 fixture between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko, played on February 2, 2025 at the Nana Koramansah Park,” a statement from the GFA said on Monday, February 3.

“They have until Wednesday, February 5, 2025 to respond to the charges.”

Following the in-game brawl, a fan of Asante Kotoko was stabbed right after the match, sparking a lot of security concerns in the league.
