The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has expressed excitement after passing an integrity test by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) ahead of the Executive Committee elections.
The test is mandatory for all aspirants.
The GFA boss, who is also the President of Zone B of the West African Football Union (WAFU), had thrown in the challenge to join the highest decision-making body of CAF.
He is going unopposed from the sub-regional football-governing body.
On Monday, January 27, he took to Facebook to announce that he has been cleared to contest the elections.
“Thrilled to share that I have been cleared to contest for a place on the Executive Committee of CAF, after successfully passing the integrity test,” he wrote.
“Excited for what lies ahead. May God guide us through this journey!”
If elected on Wednesday, March 12, Kurt Okraku will be the first Ghanaian after Kwesi Nyantakyi to be on the CAF Executive Committee.
That role could make him eligible to be nominated for the CAF Vice Presidency in future.
