Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has underscored the significant achievement of the government’s payment platform, Ghana.gov, in the country’s digitalisation journey.

The government launched Ghana.GOV as the secured platform for payment of government services in 2021.

Speaking to journalists in Accra on Sunday, February 18, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma West Constituency intimated that the platform has become “the cornerstone of Ghana’s digital transformation journey.”

According to her, the platform has successfully integrated over 1,500 institutions in its three years of operation, as opposed to the 13 institutions that onboarded the e-services platform over the same period.

“With only five of those 13 [institutions] being active,” she said.

She further noted the remarkable revenue generation increase owing to the platform’s secure and user-friendly interface.

About Ghana.GOV

Ghana.GOV is a digital service and revenue collection platform, created to provide a single point of access to Government of Ghana services for the public sector.

This is in pursuit of the government’s vision of digitizing the economy and modernizing the way the government pays its bills and collects fees for the benefit of all citizens, residents, and visitors.

The service portal seeks to deliver the processing of all payments and transfers (both electronic and cash) against the predefined service flows of each MDA and MMDA.

The platform also manages post-payment workflow, customer notification, feedback, and service ratings. This will help the government fulfill its goal of creating a cash-lite economy.
