The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah has given 50 mining companies up to 20th of January 2026 to regularise their operations or have their licenses revoked.

This is contained in a document sighted by 3news.

“… the underlisted companies have the option to submit petitions and supporting documentation to a three-member committee at the Ministry, provided they have legitimate concerns regarding the proposed licence revocations,” a portion of the document read.

It added that, “The committee will review all the submitted requests and make recommendations to the Minister for final action. All licences for which the status remains unchanged after the stated deadline will be revoked.”

Here is the list of 50 companies. The reasons for which their licenses may be revoked have been spelt out in the last column:

It would be recalled that the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources on December 23 announced that it is set to revoke the licenses of some large-scale mining companies due to regulatory breaches.

This decision has been informed by a rigorous review of large-scale mining operations, which is currently ongoing by a special committee tasked with that purpose.

At the behest of the Minister, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the committee announced the list of the first 50 affected companies with breaches such as holding leases without operating Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) or Water Resources Commission (WRC) permits.
