The Minority’s decision to occupy the Bank of Ghana (BoG) to get its Governor, Dr. Ernest Addison resign, is unconscionable, Nii Aryee Opare, has said.

The Spokesperson for the Economic Fighters League (EFL) says Parliament has given Ghanaians “more than enough justification to be dissolved as a House.”

He has expressed grave disappointment in the law making Arm of Government for how they have been discharging parts of their responsibilities.

His comments come on the back of the Minority’s decision to use what he describes as illegal means to oust the Bank of Ghana boss.

According to him, Parliament has oversight responsibility on the deeds of the central bank and the constitution also spells how the governor can be removed if he is not performing to satisfaction. However, he says he is surprised the Minority has decided to use a channel he deems illegal rather than what is spelt in the constitution.

Adding the approach of the Majority caucus to get the Finance minister, Ken Ofori-Attah out, some time ago, he indicated that the entire Legislature is playing a charade with Ghanaians on how they are performing their roles in the House.

Watch him speak on Maakye Tuesday, September 5, 2023, with Yaa Titi Okrah on Onua TV.
